Carlotta Gilli's life was turned upside down at the age of six, when Stargardt's disease, a degenerative retinopathy, progressively reduced her vision, bringing it from ten tenths to just one tenth. However, this did not stop her from continuing her life path, making her become one of the most important Paralympic swimmers ever, with dozens of continental and world titles, and two gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the Games Paralympics Tokyo 2020, making it a real point of reference for children and adults for their tenacity and ability to wisely face life's obstacles. Today Carlotta, while training hard to continue chasing new victories and new records, studies psychology to be able to continue writing important pages in her future professional life.
