Our history
Turin, 1899. A group of fearless swimming enthusiasts decide to found a company. At their helm is Colonel Vaudano, pioneer of water competitions. Thus was born the Rari Nantes Torino, the only swimming organization in Piedmont until 1918. Its managers, immediately very active in the area, organized winter trials and promoted the first swimming pool competitions, which until then had been a rarity in Italy.
In 1907, eight years after its foundation, the first major Rari Nantes Turin event took place: the "Crossing of the Po", in collaboration with the Gazzetta dello Sport. The success is immediate.
On Rari Nantes Turin
We have been swimming and more for over 110 years. Six plants under management between Turin and the first belt, for a total of over 16 thousand members. In our past, two Olympic bronzes, four world medals, 6 European golds and athletes who have made history such as Loris Facci, Filippo Magnini, Andrea Beccari, Federico Cappellazzo and Laura La Piana. Competitiveness, but also swimming school, fitness and many activities for everyone, in and out of the water.
